Nail Art Books

Hi!  I love all types of nail art.  I just think it is a wonderful way to be creative.  It is accessible to all ages, from the little girl who experiments for the first time with two different colours on her nails, all the way up to experienced nail technician and artist's.

I have been watching YouTube videos for about a year and in that time I fell in Love with Japanese Nail Art and Kawaii nails.  I think it is fabulous and amazing.  They are truely talented some of these girls and my little attempts pale in comparison.  But their is space for everyone's creativity out there and everyone has to start somewhere.

I have a small collection of nail art books mostly of Japanese variety which I just love.  Some even have some step by step instructions to try and show you how each look is achieved.  I purchased all the Japanese and the Konad book from Ebay and the Nail style book I've had for years so not sure where I got that from.

These are really cute little go to books for inspiration.

I just love looking through these books and admiring what they can achieve!

I only purchased the Konad book because when I first started out collecting Konad plates I used to stick them in the book on their designated page.  But now I have too many and it is not a suitable storage device any longer, that's why I store them in a A4 folder.  The book is a good way though to see what is achievable with Konad.

If you would like to see more in-depth pictures of any of the books, just let me know.

Ok, bye for now!

Konad M1

Hi!  I wanted to use this blog as a way to explore using my nail art plates.  On this occasion I decided to use the Konad set and plate M1.

I also used the Konad sponge art set featuring the white, yellow and orange as I haven't had a chance to use this yet so, here goes.

Obviously not cleaned up yet.

I used the glitter in the set and then used a top coat and let dry at this point.

I used the Princess Olive Green Special Polish
Plus random use of plate M1
Plus Top Coat

These colours are way out of my comfort zone but I think on the whole they are not too bad.

I had real trouble stamping with the little Ram design.  I had to redo that nail like 3 times and then this last time I smudged a little putting the top coat on because I was an impatient fool and didn't let it dry!!  But its just for fun so its not that bad.

Let me know what you think?!

Ok, bye for now!

Complete XL Plates

Hi!  The rest of my XL plates have now arrived.  I love them and can't wait to have a play with them.  I am especially excited to try out plate C it looks fun.

So here are the new plates plus I have included the others so it is a complete record of the plates so far.

I have had to move these plates out of the folder now as there are too many and they are too heavy to store in there now.  So I have put them in to this half a box temporarily until I come up with another solution.

The plates are so shiny, I'm sorry that I'm in the picture but I tried several different ways and I couldn't get a clear shot without being this close, sorry!

I will be trying these out fairly soon and I will post the pictures as and when I do!  I got all these plates off Amazon from Cheeky Beauty.

Ok, bye for now!

Hi just a quick picture of my I XL Plate that came for me yesterday.  Here it is:

Not sure why this came on its own but I guess sometimes it happens that way.  Will post pictures of my other plates as and when they come in.  I purchased this from Amazon UK.

Blue Bows

Hi! This is a really easy, cute and fun for everyday nails or a special occasion.  This is a re-creation of one of my designs that I lost.  This is just my way of having that nail picture back home yay!

Things you will need.

Base coat
Glitter blue polish
Top coat

Nail Bows

Dotting Tool/cocktail stick

1.  Base Coat

2.  One coat of blue glitter nail polish, about two thirds of the nail to the tip.

3.  Then do a second coat across the tip to deepen the blue.

4.  Then add the blue bow in the bottom corner

5.  Then seal the design with a top coat.

6.  Additional add on of blue spangles across the tip

And that's it.  Just remember to let each coat dry in between applications.  The glitter blue nail polish I got really cheap for about £1  and the spangles and bows I purchased from Ebay.

Ok, bye for now!

Nail Plate Collection

This is my nail plate collection.  I started to collect these about a year ago when I first discovered Konad and I have been hooked ever since.  I have a large collection but it is not quite as big as some others I've discovered, but this is mine and I am very pleased with what I have.  They have not been used to their full potential yet and that is what I hope to pursue during my time on this blog.

I store my plates in an A4 file.  I got some trading card plastic wallets from Amazon and the XL plates I store in individual plastic wallets within that folder.  The folder stays flat on a desk so I don't have any problems with scratching.

I got the majority of my Konad from  www.wowsocool.com   but I have also purchased from Konad uk, Ebay and Amazon UK.  The Bundle Monster, XL plates and the Mega plate are all from Amazon UK

The Konad plate collection is nearly complete, yay!! I have just ordered the missing ones and the latest edition plates up to M88.  I probably will get the complete S series but I am not in a rush for those as S6 was the only one I really fancied.

I got the Bundle Monster Series 1 & 2 only in April so haven't really tried these out yet.  I got the XL plates and Mega Image Plate for my birthday in April so haven't had chance to try these out fully either.  I got these from Cheeky Beauty on Amazon and they have now made available the other XL plates in the series so have just placed an order for them also up to K.

Also managed to get the Cheeky plates which I have been trying to get for awhile now but they have only just been made available on the UK Amazon with the release of their next series out soon.

The mega Image Plate I believe is the collection of the A series plates A1-20.  There are some missing and others that I am not sure where they have come from but quite excited to try these out.

I will probably get the new Bundle Monster and Cheeky plates but apart from that not sure if I will purchase any more plates this year.  I have so many that I haven't tried yet so I need to enjoy those before I purchase any more.  But saying that I like to collect things and I am sure there will be something that catches my eye.  There are lots of other plates that I would like but I am happy to take my time in getting those for now anyway.

I will post pictures of the new plates as and when they come in.  I would love to hear about your nail plate collection and stories.  Ok that's it from me, bye for now!
